Poor small rooms rugs bad odors.
The front desk told me the hotel was full to get a better room (find out not true!).

The gym.
The room - it had an awful hair dryer, stained carpet & no bathrobes.
When I check into a standard room, the room smelled musty, the bathroom had mold growing under the grout in the bathroom & there was no down comforter. I immediately called to upgrade to an executive room, which smelled like smoke. The hairdryer was awful. The hotel staff was nice and there is a good gym. However, I am not likely to stay at this hotel for future business trips. read more

The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, the hotel overall is very clean and comfortable, the food at the restaurant and room service was excellent as well. I have stayed at this hotel 4 times and I recommend it.

We liked the overall atmosphere and how well the location of the hotel was.
One misunderstanding with the room.
This hotel is well situated in an area where tourists can visit the Colonial part of this country without having to travel too far. It has a nice view from the entrance of the hotel and if you are a person who enjoys the beauty of the ocean. You can really get a great view from nearly every room in this hotel.

Location.
Food and services were not to par in comparison with other hotels in the area.
Faucets fell apart, bathtub equipment did not work, slow response to problems reported; as recurrent travelers to the Dominican Republic and native Spanish speakers we could understand the sharp and bitter exchange between employees and management when common everyday requests were made; on a one-to-one basis some of the employees were pleasant to deal with but not enough to erase the overall negative experience of staying at this hotel, especially when better service has been provided by the competition within a one-mile radius. read more

The staff was helpful; it was in a safe area of town, near other hotels, very clean, fast service, great food.
More for business, TV remote didn't work, door lock had problems, charged for minibar when didn't use it, phone & food was expensive.
It was overall a good stay. Didn't realize how business oriented it was. Wouldn't recommend for leisure travelers. As everywhere in the capital, people are trying a make a fast buck. Some repairs should have been done by the time we arrived (broken remote control, door batteries dead) which made us think that service people were looking to make a tip on such things. Please check the door inside the room that's connected to the adjacent room, because our door was accessible due to a paper being placed in the socket. Otherwise very good service and stay. read more
