Gran Bahia Principe Punta Cana - All Inclusive

The hotel was very accommodating to my daughter and I during our stay. I would have liked to be able to add less than 3 days to my stay in order to extend my stay there. I had to go directly to the hotel in order to do that and I did not get to stay in the original room that we booked. It was not a problem as we stayed in the same building and the hotel staff was quite accommodating for all of us. My overall experience was average. My reservation was made only an hour before I arrived at the hotel and the front desk was unable to find it. However one of the agents was very helpful and let me print out the itinerary from the back office and got us a room. The check in process was long (about 3 hours) even for others that did have their vouchers confirmed. The resort has 3 properties in one and we stayed at the family friendly property. Although family friendly my husband and I did not appreciate kids running through the dining room in the a la carte restaurants that we had to wait an hour to get a reservation for and was supposed to be a fine dining experience. I was not impressed with the food and drinks at all. In fact I was very excited to eat 'Mangu' a Dominican national dish and when they finally put it out at the breakfast buffet it was horrible. Also there are not many staff that speak English and other guests were frustrated trying to communicate with them when problems arose. Fortunately I speak Spanish so I did not encounter this problem but just something to keep in mind. There isn't a lot to do but the beach and the pool so if you are looking for a relaxing vacation and a beautiful beach and water sports I recommend it. read more
