Doubletree By Hilton Toronto Airport

I really enjoyed my stay at Double tree Hilton, is close to the airport and all the major highways. It has all the facilities which u need for your business or pleasure needs. and the price was very affordable.

All in all I was not disappointed with the service I received at the Doubletree. My primary concern was that I had been given a smoking room via Priceline and I made two phone calls to the Doubletree staff to ensure that I either could stay in a non-smoking room or that a machine could be provided to remove the smoke (as had been done for me at the Doubletree in Boston). I arrived at the hotel without a worry since I got a non-smoking room in a very clean hotel room. Front desk was cordial as well. read more

Check in took forever, they were understaffed and the staff on hand were slow. The room was not what I expected, it was a double that was very small.

The hotel is an older grand building and must have been very nice some time ago. It sill is quite nice but is starting to show it's age. Staff was helpful and friendly in person. On the phone when I was trying to confirm that I would need a non-smoking room I was not able to get any reassurances even after I mentioned that I was being accompanied by a minor. Nice rooms, elegant, clean.

The staff that I did have contact with, were friendly. The chocolate chip cookies were a nice added touch. I found the noise from the traffic and airplanes, much louder than other airport hotels I've been at. In the bathroom was a small door above the toilet that was partially open. My curiosity led me to look inside and it was inside the wall where water would be turned off/on. Since we were only on the 3rd floor we thought we would go down the stairs. We ended up in the basement , in the staff dining area with a surprised security guard needing to show us how to get to the lobby. Were the stairs only meant for emergencies? read more

It is a typical Doubletree room bedding (good). But both rooms had water leak, in closet or bathroom. Housekeeping was extremely unprofessional, knocking at door and asking guest when vacating the room in early morning despite the "do not disturb" sign. The last two were the reasons to downgrade to 2-stars.
