Location and parking.
Too many little kids running around, but that is not the hotels fault.

Location. Nice comfortable rooms.
The snacks in the hotel rooms are booby-trapped. If you lift something up for 20 seconds to look at it, you've bought it.

We really enjoyed this visit. Though the weather in Chicago was pretty poor, the hotel's location neutralized much of the bad weather. From our arrival greeting to our departure the stay was warm and pleasant, especially for a big city business hotel. The bell staff and the hotel greeters were all cordial and welcoming. It's nice to come in out of the rain, snow, slush, wind and cold to a great staff. These guys were tops. read more

Staff.
Double Tree elevators took too long.

We stayed at two different hotels Doubletree staff was courteous and helpful elevators weren't working properly. They were doing a renovation and they may have been part of problem.

The beds were very fluffy and comfy and was a large room.
The appearance of the lobby was cold, the room was not.

This was an excellent, comfortable room. Much more than I expected for 2 1/2 stars. The location was a little off, but only a couple blocks.

Staff was friendly and courteous.
No valet parking and parking lot was not part of the hotel. No parking available on first day.

The hotel was surprisingly clean and well decorated. The front desk staff was courteous and friendly. I was disappointed with the parking situation. I have never before stayed at a 3-5 star hotel in downtown Chicago, that didn't have valet parking. On top of that, the lot that was attached to the hotel, wasn't even owned by the hotel, and was full when I checked in, leaving me to go and find a parking place somewhere downtown. Not good. In general thought, the hotel was very good. read more

Wonderful eds.
No lounge chair in room and no shelf in the bathroom.

An upscale, beautifully located hotel. Parking is very expensive, but so if the public parking in the neighborhood. Lack of any chair except for an excellent computer chair means there is no comfortable place to sit to read the paper, for example.
