We loved having separate rooms for the 2 couples in the room and a full kitchen.
They did not have a room with two queens so one of the couples had to sleep on the pull out sofa.

Overall the hotel was great. It was much farther away from 6th street and Austin nightlife as we would have hoped but the hotel has a courtesy van that will drive you down there. Rooms were nice but they did not have one with 2 queen beds which was what we wanted. Full kitchen with some dishes which made eating leftovers easy. We ordered extra blankets, towels and a roll a way and they were dropped off at our room quickly. We did get a room service charge on our room that wasn't supposed to be there, they took it off no problem, but do pay attention to your bill. Oh, and ask for a cookie at the front desk, they are amazing! read more

It was beautiful and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
There was nothing I did not like.

My stay at the Doubletree was wonderful. The staff was friendly and even gave us warm cookies as a welcome gift! The room was very nice and the beds were comfortable and bed linens beautiful. I will definitely stay here again.

When we arrived, we were told we could not get the beds we requested, which is fine. We understood that, but instead of 1 king or 2 queens plus a sofa bed, we were given 1 queen bed and a sofa bed. I have never been in a hotel in my life that did not have a king or 2 queens/doubles as the bed choices. 1 queen is just not acceptable. Fine for a business traveler, but no families groups or couples. And the bed we did have was unbelievably uncomfortable. read more

The price we paid for the hotel met way over my expectations. The room was huge and was decorated very nicely, very Texas style.
Dated bathroom.

We only stayed in the hotel for one night b/c of a graduation we had to attend. Since there were 4 of us the hotel accommodated us with a two bed guest suite. There was a nice living room that even had a couch that turned into a bed. So we all slept comfortably. Our room included a kitchenette that was fully stocked along with marble countertops. Very nice. The best thing was the balcony that over looked Downtown Austin, and the hotel staff was very friendly and even accommodated us at 2a.m. when we got back from going out and we were starving. read more

The location.
The crusty, dirty, icky stuff on the sheets.

I liked the hotel overall but the grossness of the sheets ruined my stay. I did not see the stuff when I got into the bed I felt it. It was that gross. I called down and the guy was very nice but I just slept in the other bed. I feel like my stay should have been camped. It was a very unnerving experience.

Very nice staff, location, room, etc.
The a/c in the room never worked up to par. Parking is an expense.

My overall experience with this hotel was great. The staff was friendly and responsive. I did have an issue with the a/c unit in my room that was never quite resolved. Also the hotel has an underground parking garage for its guest, but they charge for its use. This I thought was absurd. The only other parking available is valet which is more expensive or metered parking on the street. Outside of those things stated I had no problems with the hotel and would indeed stay there again. read more
