Extremely clean, friendly staff and modern dcor.
Room service food awful.

I would highly recommend this hotel for the ambiance and friendly staff. The children had an indoor and outdoor pool in which to play as well as a hot tub for adults all very clean I would not recommend the food, the price is right but the quality is missing.

Filthy / under re-modeling / 1 star not 3 star.

DO not stay here at least until the remodeling is complete in Jan 07.

Bathrooms were dirty.

Nice hotel atmosphere, a little hard to find-not much in the way of signs. The bathroom was dirty and had to keep shoes on, but over all the hotel felt safe and nice.

Great location.
It is pretty sad when you have to clean out the pool yourself pools were filthy, hotel is needing a serious remodeling !

Hotel might have been nice a few years back , but carpet, furniture, baths were very worn and dirty.

The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is very romantic. live music is in, and was very good.
The rooms, decorations was not the best, and carpet was burned.

I am excited to know, that the Hotel will be given and upgrade to the Doubletree. The only things that can cause this A rated hotel to be an B, once the change is made. And that if the rooms don't get upgraded, everything else, the food, the service, the people are Top Flight! Great! Thank you for a wonderful time.

The breakfast buffet was good.
Dirty, rundown, rude and unhelpful staff, poor housekeeping.

If you really want to stay in a 3 star hotel in Augusta, do not select Augusta West as an option to name your own price. You'll get stuck with this place and you're infinitely better off staying in a Hampton Inn or something for the same price or comparable price. Believe the reviews that you read these people are not exaggerating. The hotel has allot of potential, but attends to none of the details a nicer hotel should have, and I am not a high maintenance travelers. The staff do not go out of their way by any means to be helpful expect one word answers. The beds are uncomfortable. The place is dirty. The housekeeping is poor I felt lucky that they even made our beds. If you are lucky enough to have hot water, it takes forever to heat up, then is intermittent. The fixtures are cracked, pitted, and utterly worn. There are water stains all over the walls. Management hasn't even seen fit to take down some of the leftover Sheraton signage. I've stayed in cheap motels that were as nice or nicer than this place. My party left Augusta after three nights at this place and stayed at a Hampton Inn in Atlanta for the same price, and felt much more pampered and relaxed -- and slept better on the more comfortable bed. There is no way this place should have the rating it does one star would be more appropriate. read more
