Very comfortable, spacious, beautifully decorated. Tall ceilings. Comfortable beds and sitting area in room. Easy access to freeway and restaurants. Three star hotel. Enjoyed our stay. Would stay at Double Tree Bakersfield again.

The room was dingy, staff was unhelpful, roll away looked like it was 30 years old and saggy.

I was thoroughly unimpressed with the staff, the air conditioner and my overall time. The lock on the door was broken, we were placed in the older part of the hotel upon arrival. Though there were clearly three of us, we were placed in a room with one king bed. I called at 10:00 to try and get a roll away. No answer from the front desk. I called back later and was put on hold for 15 literal minutes. I put it on speaker phone and used my cell phone to call again. I was told that a roll away was $15, so I asked to be transferred to another room, instead I got a free roll away. That was nice. Air conditioner was unreliable, only two towels. Staff is very friendly.
No free internet.

The staff is friendly and accommodating. Pool area is pretty and clean. Catering services provides free warm cookies on check-in and cold tea and water all day in the lobby. I always get my preference of room location.

Smokers.

Suited our purposes however if we were not going to lose the money we would not have come. We enjoyed the stay however and were glad we came. Explored the Kern river and River Kern area which was a first for us.
