The room was very nice, it had been remodeled recently.
I was not aware on the construction/remodeling taking place until I arrived.

Hotel could not be located. They changed name to Doubletree (I booked at Holiday Inn). Entire building is under construction for renovations, no lobby, electric being done, sheetrock in hallways, exposed metal beams, wiring, smell of paint, spackle, etc. But the room we were in was completed and decorated lovely. New beds, flat screen TV, etc. The connecting hallway was a mess under construction. Heavy equipment, machinery, etc. surrounded rear of building. But when completed it should be beautiful and very comfortable. read more

Under renovation.

This former Holiday Inn is undergoing renovations and will become a Doubletree in the next few months. We were confused because the Holiday Inn signs are gone, but they did have our reservation. We got a newly-refurbished room which was fantastic, much nicer than the room I stayed in last year when it was still the Holiday Inn.

Convenient to dining and our destination.

The hotel was fine, considering a new Holiday Inn is being constructed about 1/4 mile away to, apparently replace this one (as of 12/07). About 10 minutes from N.C. Wesleyan College, which was our destination.

Although the public & lobby areas were very nice and clean, the room needed a makeover. The doors had punched holes in the walls and one wall had several areas of joint compound as if they were getting ready to paint.

The lobby was very pleasing to the eye, great interior decor and fragrance was nice. The staff was friendly.
I did not like the bathroom because it had wall paper that was coming off the walls.

I enjoyed my stay. I think that the restaurant down in the lobby was a great idea but the bar should stay open a lot longer than 12 midnight. It is much safer for the visitors.
