The Resort is in the heart of the Galena Territorys rolling countryside in Galena Illinois among the continuous 6800 acres of pristine countryside. Eagle Ridge is the Midwests finest resort featuring 63 holes of championship golf indoor and outdoor fitness facilities plus a world of family recreation. The Resort also has a variety of restaurants offering it all from elaborate buffets to intimate dinners as well as room service. Stonedrift Spa offers massages and body treatments of all kinds. There is also horseback riding and hot air balloon rides. Eagle Ridge has it all to help you get away from the hectic nature of daily life. It is a special place, particularly around the Holiday Season. It was beautifully decorated and gave us a cheerful and warm holiday feeling.

The hotel has a lovely setting and is generally very good.
The villa we had was not as clean as expected.

We have stayed here in the past and had great experiences, so we were disappointed with the cleanliness of the villa. Also, our request for a cleaning was not fulfilled.

This was a great place for families and couples alike. The resort facilities, including the General Store were accessible and had high quality merchandise. The villa was well appointed and spotless. A very enjoyable stay.

The scenery was amazing.
The price.

We stayed in the Settlement and I feel it was not really worth the price. I took it as a romantic get away and it turned out to be more of a family/business retreat place.

Musty smell, dated furnishings.

Staff was great, Woodland restaurant was great, hotel room and AC not working properly, musty/damp smell that wouldn't go away, carpet was worn and frayed, furnishings looked dated and old.

Scenery. Activities. Food. Staff. Free activities. 5 star spa.
Room was dingy compared to rest of hotel.

Great scenery. Friendly staff. Great food. Free and cheap rentals for activities. No matter what kind of traveler you are, this place has something to accommodate you. We are a married couple on a mini vacation for our anniversary. We are looking to return with family/friends.

Great if you liked to golf.

I would not recommend staying at the inn at this hotel. The rooms smelled like mold and my husband's allergies started acting up. It just felt dirty! This is not what a resort should be categorized as. The balcony was old, no light, and spider & wasp nets all over the beams. The room had no mini bar or refrigerator to store anything in. The resort needs to be remodeled and updated to today's standards. The pool is comparable to a Holiday Inn pool, no of a resort nature. I had to pay $18.00 a day for a resort conveyance charge which included a newspaper, to use the pool, etc of which we did not use....plus taxes of $14.00 a day. As for the spa, I have been to many spas and the atmosphere was just ok. We got a couples massage and frankly my back hurt more leaving the session. Stay away. read more

Beautiful location in open spaces.
Tired room, dirty carpet, bugs.

We spent the Thanksgiving holiday here and while the location was wonderful, the room and the Thanksgiving buffet were disappointing. The room was tired, the carpet disgustingly spotted. Had we not already moved in before noticing the bugs on the walls and ceiling we would have requested a room change. Instead we just kept squashing bugs through our 3 night stay. The Thanksgiving buffet was mediocre. The drive to and from the resort was beautiful. read more
