Description of Eastgate Tower Hotel
Eastgate Tower combines the charm of residential Murray Hill with the convenience of midtown Manhattan. It is a modern yet peaceful setting with close proximity to corporate offices, Grand Central Station, the United Nations and popular shopping. A small lobby with a geometrically patterned banquette and contemporary art welcomes guests to this comfortable hotel, which was built in the 1970's as an apartment house. U.N. personnel, banking and brokerage professionals, families and those with long term assignments in the city are among the guest who appreciate the extra space and cooking facilities. The hotel's lively Restaurant, II Sogno, features a large patio for elegant open air dining. Midtown Manhattan, Residential Murray Hill Eastside read more

Location.

Eastgate Hotel appears that it was an apartment building that was converted to a hotel. Room was spacious with a small kitchenette which can be useful. The room and furnishings were dingy, spartan, and dated, but not dirty - in fact, it was very clean. Some city noise, after all, it is New York City. If you are looking for a modestly priced midtown hotel and aren't worried about impressing someone with a huge lobby or decor, this is a good choice. read more

The largest accommodations I've had so far in NYC for this price.

This is the second time I've stayed here, the first time I was satisfied, the room was 1/4 of size of the one I stayed in this week. It's the luck of the draw when we're bidding as far as that goes but both were well worth the gamble; the kitchen is my favorite since I am a very finicky eater and like to buy my own food.

Room size, price and
cleanliness.
No wash cloths. Location was slightly out of way.

Large room with couch, kitchen.
Internet was $13.95 extra.

Room was larger than expected. A little on the older side for decor, but it was comfortable enough. Delay at check in because their server was down, but they said this had never happened before. Worst part was that they did not mention up front that internet was nearly $14, so that was a bitter surprise at check out.

The room was large with a seating area.

Staff was friendly. Having a kitchen is very convenient and the reading area was great to relax in before retiring for the night. It is close to Grand Central Station and restaurants.

Large room with small kitchen to the side.
Wireless internet would not work from room--but only in the small, cramped lobby.

It had a very personal feel and staff was great.
Needs new carpet and furniture.

This place is a home away from home.

I liked the kitchenette and the helpfulness of the staff.
The info card said internet required a cable which I purchased only to find out that there was wireless.

The Eastgate tower is simple, efficient and practical. The service courteous and helpful. While the lobby is spare and the rooms a little dated - the room, kitchenette and bathroom was clean and maintained. Good value.
