Eastgate Tower combines the charm of residential Murray Hill with the convenience of midtown Manhattan. It is a modern yet peaceful setting with close proximity to corporate offices, Grand Central Station, the United Nations and popular shopping. A small lobby with a geometrically patterned banquette and contemporary art welcomes guests to this comfortable hotel, which was built in the 1970's as an apartment house. U.N. personnel, banking and brokerage professionals, families and those with long term assignments in the city are among the guest who appreciate the extra space and cooking facilities. Hotel is very near to visiting places like Empire State Building, Time Square, Top of the Tock & Grand Central Station.
I don't like this hotel. Very old building and room services is not good.

Basically, I don't like this hotel.

The staff was very accommodating with reservation error.
Rooms were fine but not great- seemed a little stale. Reservation was incorrect.

The best part of the hotel was the staff - they were very helpful. There was an error in my reservation (smaller room was reserved than needed) and did their best to remedy the problem.

Bathroom toilet was not clean.

Dated facility in good location - I would not want to stay there again.

Nothing.
The first room stank of smoke and the bedding smelled of body odor; second room had peeling wall and black mold on the wall.

The first room we stayed in reeked of smoke and the bedding smelled of body odor. The room was freezing and our request for extra blankets was denied due to the fact that housekeeping closes at 9 pm. We asked to be moved to another room the following day. The second room wasn't as bad as the first. At least we could breathe that night. The wall behind the heating unit was peeling and there was black mold on the wall. I wasn't as cold that night, as I was sensible enough to wear plenty of layers in bed. I also put a towel on top of my pillow to prevent the bad body odor smell. This is the first bad review I've ever written about a hotel. read more

The size of the room was tremendous, especially for Manhattan.

I've stayed in several hotels in Manhattan, probably five or six while visiting my son at Columbia. The room at Eastgate Tower Hotel was three times as big as any other room I ever had. It had a full kitchen, dining area with a table, a living room area, a bedroom and bathroom. It was basically an apartment. It was clean and had a nice view outside the window.

Close parking.
In bad need to new carpets and furniture.

Rooms are huge, and would be great if they spent some money upgrading the furniture and carpets.
