Close to area hospital.
Old, in need of remodeling, clogged drains, costly parking, no Internet.

My son had to be at the area hospital very early in the morning, so we needed to spend the night before in Portland. This hotel was the closest to the hospital and sounded good according to the listing. We found out when we got there that we had to pay $17.00 per night to park, so the price all together was actually more than some of the other hotels we could and should have stayed at. We were placed in an older section that was not updated and had a really old bathroom that reeked of smoke. When trying to brush our teeth before bed the sink would not drain. The Internet also did not work (I'm not too sure if it ever does). read more

Great location, great suite room (unexpected), great city and lots of fun
Wedding happening, lobby crowded, looked disorganized, hangers on smoking at front door. Parking cost $36/2 nights - ouch!

The Eastland Park Hotel had a fantastic location in downtown Portland. We could walk anywhere easily and had a great time. THe hotel is definitely old with crumbling plaster walls in the corners (by windows, behind curtains). However it did not distract from the lovely two room suite we had - which was perfect.

Comfortable beds.
Slow WiFi.

Portland's Eastland Park is an attractive, comfortable hotel ideally located near the city's art museum, best restaurants and waterfront. Rooms are on the small side with awkwardly placed power outlets, but the plush beds, above-average decor and view of the city make this a destination worth repeating.

Staff helpful, walking distance to all our needs, older hotel w/character.
nieghborhood a little seedy at night. Just a little. We still went out.

We read lots of negative reviews of this hotel on line after booking our stay. Needless to say we were apprehensive. We were pleasantly surprized. All the staff we met went out of our way to make us comfortable. We road our bikes to the Portland Seadogs, 5 minutes away. Walked to breakfast on Commericial St. and rode our bikes to the ferry out to Peak's Island. Rooms were smaller due to age of the hotel but very clean. Hotel's roof top lounge had a nice view. Garage accessible by walking from hotle under short covered walkway was handy, only $16 and not at all inconvenient. I'd recommend this to anyone staying in Portland. read more

Friendly people. The food was good.
The bathroom was small. The room was a little smaller than I wanted.

Friendly staff who want to help. A bigger bathroom would have helped a great deal.

Our 8th floor corner room had lots of windows to the floor - great views!

Overall our stay was wonderful. We did feel it would have been nice to be able to check out the view from the top without buying a very expensive lunch. The restaurant doesn't open til 11:30am,(check out is 11) why not set aside an early hour for people who would like to just take in the view?

Room was spacious.
The hallways were smelly & decrepit. Had to pay to park.

This hotel is down at the heels in sore need of renovation. Hallways were smelly, dank and depressing. Water pressure in shower was so high, it felt like pins and needles. Had to pay extra to park in public garage next door. There was a well publicized murder that occurred in this hotel.
