Hotel Guest Reviews of the Econo Lodge Whippany
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.February 28, 2010

Having grown up in the area, and remember the hotel from back when it was a Howard Johnson's. I decided to see things with my own eyes and was very glad that I did. I have stayed here before and have never encountered any problems at all. The staff is very pleasant and VERY helpful. They even brought me a fridge and microwave (no charge) when I mentioned that I had had one on previous stays. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who is budget conscious and needs a decent place to stay. ...

we had stayed at this hotel in the past, so we thought we had found a good deal on the room for one night of our trip. were we ever wrong. the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. we were afraid to take a shower. it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. black mold was formed in the shower and also in the rim of the toilet. the bed was like sleeping on concrete and honestly after that bathroom we were almost afraid to sleep on the bed for fear that there could be bed bugs. i honestly wish I could get a refund on this hotel as it was that disgusting. we will never use priceline again for when we are planning on going to New Jersey for a fear of getting stuck with this hotel again. the few hours we were in this hotel almost ruined our entire weekend. i don't think either one of us slept for more than a few minutes here and there all night. and I could barely walk cuz my back hurt so much from that bed. ...

I have used this inn repeatedly and find good for business traveler. Usually satisfied. This stay was unpleasant dirty bathroom. I usually check in very late and leave very early with not much interaction with staff. Front desk is always friendly. I will use it again but first I'll check or request a clean room.

Rooms remain filthy with marginal towels and linen. I stay at this hotel two or three times a month with Priceline and this hotel is an emparassment to Priceline. This stay made me feel slightlhy uncomfortable because of vans of some group staying at the hotel, roaming the halls and making noise late at night.

Economy, that's it. Nothing to brag about.

A dump. Rooms are not clean and linens are worn and cigarette-burned old bed covers seem to be the norm in many rooms.

This is a very basic motel. It is in the process of being refurbished. It is clean and worth the money. For a one night stay this place is just fine!

Quite simply and literally, a dump.

Do not stay here! It may be a value but for an extra $10 you can stay at the Hyatt.
