It was open.
Under construction. They said the rain caused me not to get the rooms I wanted and the one was located next to construction that started at 7am.
It rained and the hotel room with a king size bed was leaked on so they gave me a room with 2 full size beds. it was located by the construction they were doing which had pounding o the walls at 7am and the smell of paint everywhere. The hotel is old and not better than a basic model hotel and the new upgrades are poor at best.

Friendly staff, delicious food, wonderful stay!
The sauna wasn't working. Everything else was great!
I recommended Embassy suites to all my family in Vegas, Oregon, Washington and North California. We are 15 brothers and sisters and for some reason we all have jobs that require traveling.

The complimentary breakfast.
The maid was still cleaning the room when I arrived.

Our suite was spacious and the hotel had a welcoming feeling. The staff was professional yet extremely helpful.
We strongly recommend this hotel for the welcoming feeling you receive when you first walk in the door. The staff was professional and yet extremely helpful. We felt at home during our stay and enjoyed the indoor public areas. We utilized the indoor pool, gym, and just relaxed while watching the Koi fish in the pond next to the restaurant.

Breakfast in the morning for everyone staying in the hotel was unexpected but very nice!
The rooms looked a little old fashioned compared to the rest of the hotel. The tropical look of the eating area was very pleasing to the eye.
We really enjoyed staying at the Embassy Suites. We reserved to rooms as we were celebrating my daughter's 15th birthday and she wanted a sleepover. We thought it would be fun to rent a hotel room and let the girls enjoy a night there with complimentary breakfast. I informed the desk clerk about our plans and informed me of all the necessary items I should be aware of, like blocking certain movies, and also informed me about the complimentary happy hour and breakfast. We had 8 teenage girls with us and they loved every bit of it. We enjoyed breakfast the next morning while we waited for parents to pick up their daughters. It was perfect. They had their fun, their sleepover, without the mess at home to pick up. We spent the night right next door so we could keep an eye on them and also enjoyed some quiet grownup time. We actually snuck out to breakfast before they woke up because we wanted to sit and enjoy our coffee before being surrounded by teenagers! The girls are still talking about it days later. read more

Great retro ambiance!
My husband and I got a kick out of the parrot in the lobby, glass elevators and indoor water feature. Although it could use some minor repairs, wall paper and paint, she's still a grand old dame! Wish we had tried the restaurant!

The great breakfast and free drinks.
I wanted to have a later checkout, but there is a fee for that.
I loved the embassy suites in Downey. It was in a perfect location. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was great and they had free drinks from 5:30 7:00. The only thing I didn't like was the checkout time. I wanted to get a late checkout time, 2pm, but there is a fee of $25.00 for that. That was the only thing I didn't like.

Suites were excellent for family, pool was clean, free breakfast was delicious.
This hotel was really great. My whole family enjoyed the experience. We had a great room that was big enough for our whole family. The kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The free breakfast was awesome. I would definitely stay here again.
