Hotel Guest Reviews of the Excalibur Hotel And Casino
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.February 5, 2012

I would have stayed there longer if it didn't smell so bad. My allergies acted up so bad I had to take medication. Thank god we had reservations somewhere else for the rest of the week.

Standard smoking room on the 1st floor was old, dark, and stinky. Guests around the room were smoking and stunk up the hallways.

Lots of high pressure sales for Show tickets in multiple places within the hotel. I saw glassware in the halls outside rooms that sat there for the entire duration of my trip (4 days) and my room didn't have soap, lotion or shampoo stocked and there was gum on the floor when I first walked in. I know it's the cheapest major hotel on the strip, but the experience was sub-par by even those standards. ...

Overall our stay here was great. The registration staff was snippy and acted like we were putting her out but other than that it was great.

The hotel is probably the oldest at this end of the Strip but by the same token is gambler friendly with lower minimum bets and better odds than some of the other casinos nearby. Although, there were not many people arriving when I arrived in my cab, there were no bellmen to help me with my five bags until I had dragged all of them all the way to the entrance doors and was trying to figure out how to get inside without injuring myself. Then suddenly one showed up and took them from me. Once I had his attention, he was very friendly. I went straight to check-in and stood in line for approximately 20 minutes, then I was not allowed to check-in without my husband being present, even though the room had been charged on my credit card, so I had to wait in the lobby for two hours until he arrived from a meeting. It was not a pleasant experience arriving at the hotel. Once that was out of the way, the stay went well. The buffet was very good and the deals they had on meals both there and Luxor were outstanding. The lobby and casino is kept as clean as is possible with a facility of that age and the room we had was comfortable and adequate for our purposes. The check-out process was also long since the quick check-out kiosks were out of order and I had to stand in the registration line yet again.

There is the mandatory fee for about $14 per day which suddenly appears when you check in. If that is announced while making reservation, it should be great and no miscommunication.

This hotel is a good hotel if you are looking to save some money. In Vegas, you don't spend a whole lot of time in your room anyway. The location is great, being in walking distance to many other casinos and night life as well. The amenities are decent and the buffet is pretty good. This is a great hotel for younger people and fairly close to the airport.
