Newer hotel with old time elegance.
High priced drinks.
Comfortable, inviting, and no pretensions. Loved the lobby seating.

Overall beauty, friendly staff and
great location.
The hallways near rooms and room elevators needed to be checked more frequently for litter/food.
This hotel is beautiful without a stuffy feel to the staff. Everyone is friendly. Restaurant (The Pagoda) is wonderful if you enjoy fresh Asian food. The fountain restaurant is beautiful as well and serves classic breakfast food wonderfully. I would absolutely stay again.

The level of customer service.
We were not in the main building and a room key was needed for elevator.
This hotel is one of San Jose's finest. It was my third stay at this location and every time I am happy with the hotel and it's staff. Staff is friendly and willing to help no matter what the problem. I will stay at this location in the future as the rooms are spacious and very comfortable.

This is our second holiday season in a row staying at the Fairmont-San Jose. It is our gift to ourselves!
Day Spa was
not open on Christmas Day! Oh well!
We love staying at the Fairmont/San Jose hotel because of its proximity to Christmas in the Park in Downtown San Jose, CA. Also, the meat entries at the Grill restaurant are supreme! Room service is also right on time. Everything about the Fairmont hotels exude luxury!

Paying for parking. Non smoking floor smelled like cigarettes.
It was ok. We weren't really there for the hotel anyway. I did use the salon to get a massage, which was horrible.
To park at the hotel you had to pay I think it was $18 a day. The bar/ lounge was nice and the bartender was pleasant and kept a good conversation. We did have some sushi from their sushi bar, and I would not recommend it to anyone it was gritty and did not taste fresh. Our room was nice, large, the bathtub did not hold water though and I was looking forward to a nice relaxing bath but that didn't work out so well. Being a smoker (cigarettes), and hotels being non- smoking is no problem for me, but our floor smelled so bad like cigarettes I mean it was STRONG and I smoke, so that means it must have been horrible for people who do not. Overall it wasn't worth how much we paid to stay there. read more

The rooms are very quiet!
The rental movies can't be paused, rewound or fast forwarded!
We stayed on the 19th floor and it was very quiet. We never heard any kind of noise from the rooms around us. The room was very comfy - we especially thought the bedding was very, very soft. The lighted vanity area was great for doing my hair and makeup.
