Description of Four Queens Hotel And Casino
On the comer of the brightest spot in the world- ground broke on November 16- 1964- for one of the most famous Glitter Gulch landmarks -- the Four Queens Hotel/Casino. The hotel was dedicated to owner/builder Ben Goffsteins four daughters- Faith- Hope- Benita and Michele. It began as a pint-size property with 120 rooms and a casino of 20-000 square feet. Under creative leadership it has grown to be a jewel in todays downtown Las Vegas. In 1976- the casino expanded to 33-000 square feet- and the new decor set the interior-decorating trend for Las Vegas casinos by replacing the typical gambling-house red and black with warm earth tones. Another casino expansion in 1977 enlarged the casino to 40-000 square feet. It now takes up the full block of Fremont Street from Casino Center to Third Street. Another addition in 1981 added a nineteen-story- 400-room tower with a new front desk and lobby area plus 8-000 more square feet of casino space bringing it currently to 690 rooms of which 42 are suites- and approximately 50-000 square feet of casino space. In 2003- new owners TLC brought about a complete renovation of the hotel and casino. The Four Queens offers meeting and convention space for up to 180 people in the Royal Pavilion The gourmet restaurant- Hugos Cellar- has won recognition for five years as the best gourmet room in Las Vegas. Hugos wine list holds an Award of Excellence from The Wine Spectator. A 1995 Zagat survey listed the Four Queens as a property with solid comfort and super specials dealt daily. Forty years of downtown warmth and gaming entertainment make the Four Queens stand out as a Glitter Gulch landmark. read more

The price was great for the quality of the hotel.
The bathroom exhaust wasn't working.

I thought the quality of the hotel was great; and I thought the price was even greater. The hotel is also located in a great location on Fremont St.

It was next to the free show and they had a grate sports bar and the Chicago Brewing Co. Was great.
The security out side in the parking lot I guess he is outside making sure only hotel guess park in the lot but he was a little to angry get a new job.

Over all for the price it was great. I would stay again I loved the Chicago Brewing Co. the Downtown light show was just outside the door the view was not I had a roof top view of some big a/c units. Security needs to be friendlier its the first thing you see and they have attitude not good for business.

Very convenient parking and rooms close to entrance.
Had plumbing problems, electronics problems.

While the overall experience was fair, the plumbing issues, stopped toilets and sink in two different rooms, and the electrical issues, could not order movies in room, would not have been a big deal if not for the inconvenience of having to move our entire luggage and the rude comments by the maintenance staff. The front desk people we indifferent and the mangers said their hands were kind of tied since we used a hotel broker. read more

Newly remodeled and very clean.
Very smoky because of the casino.

This hotel was nicer than I expected. I was recently remodeled and the rooms were really nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were kept clean and in order. The only downfall to this hotel in Las Vegas is the location. It isn't located on the main strip.

Location on Fremont street was OK.
Rooms were tired and small.

Located on Fremont Street - this hotel is tired and poorly equipped. The noise from Fremont Street to the lower floors is loud and goes on well into the early hours. The staff are pretty useless. The hotel lobby is a mess.

Very friendly employees - everyone says good morning.
Maid service didn't come half the time - had to call for towels.

I enjoyed staying here. I wasn't too happy about the maid service, but everyone from the parking attendant to the front desk clerk was very nice. Had toilet problems and it took nearly 12 hours to fix.

It was right by the dome.
No pool, not too clean, not close to anything else.

It was okay for what I paid, next time I would be willing to pay a bit more because it would be nice to stay in a hotel with a pool. And I would prefer being on the strip rather then downtown because downtown is kind of scary especially for a family.
