Small, Personal Hotel (since 1956) located in the historic district, within walking distance of shopping and ferries to St. John, St. Croix and the BVI's neighboring islands. Many other restaurants within walking distance. **St Thomas is a hilly island, a result of ancient volcanic activity, with very little flat land. We had a great view of the city from our balcony & got a lot of exercises from the 97 stairs to our room.
The stairs - not a fan of exercises.

Was a great bed & breakfast! The hotel was nice and started our day with a great breakfast every morning. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Charming and right in the heart of the port.
The many steps to reach your room, dragging your luggage. Not for the elderly or disabled.

Lovely, economical B&B. Would stay here again.

Wonderful character, beautiful setting, friendly

Capturing the essence of the Caribbean, Galleon Hotel sits at the top of Government Hill next to a great restaurant, right in the center of all the activity of the town. The hotel itself is staffed by great people with a full breakfast served and help given freely. I will definitely stay there again.

The view, the staff, the food, perfection!

Don't listen to the whiners about the stairs, thats life on the side of a mountain! Galleon House was so great, we were back there 3 days later!

Good location for walks to shopping areas.
Far too may steps to climb with any amount of luggage.

Interesting with good views. Smallish but functions rooms. Great restaurant below the hotel. A hundred or more steps to climb with no other access. Not for someone with several pieces of luggage.

Great view, close to shopping, friendly staff, clean rooms.
Long hike up hill with bags, no porters or bellmen.

Romantic gets away spot with great staff and clean rooms. If you have a lot of gear (we did) for sailing get a room closer to shore.

Open veranda for dining.
Music playing late into the evening and my room was right next to the veranda where the music was playing.

Great location lower priced room may not have a window-which is not a plus when you are in a scenic location. Staff helpful.

Room was dirty, room was size of a closet, and TV was a 13'.

It was one our worst experience with any hotel regarding the room itself. You literally had to climb approx. 50 steps to get to the hotel (pack light). The room was a closet w/ a 13' TV (back in time). We stayed in our clothes because we did not know what the bed held lurking inside the sheets. If I could leave a good light on the hotel I would have to say the pool "looked" great and the breakfast ok. read more

It was convenient.
Lots of stairs!

My daughters and I was comfortable. Had a nice aura, but don't expect plush accomodations. No windows to open, covered in shutters, rather dark!
