on the outside terrasse there was a group of guests of easter european decent that both nights I was there where way way drunk, loud and unpleasent. I don't understand why none of the staff tried to get them to move and stopped service.

Location is excellent, very central yet very quiet.
Mattress should have been a revive bed and it was not, I checked.
Very nice hotel, very nice lobby and location, maybe not the newest property but excellent service.
I was upgraded to a very big and comfortable room. My only criticism of this very good hotel is i checked the mattress and it was a firm mattress. Yes, they place a mattress pad on top but it´s not the same as having a comfy mattress in the first place. Very friendly staff. Great and very expensive shops around the hotel. read more

The staff was very professional and nice.
There were not many restaurants nearby.
Very good service and very clean facilities. The rooms are comfortable, but pretty plain.

The beds were comfortable.
Internet did not work correctly.
The staff at this hotel was not very friendly. The Internet connection in the lobby did not work at all. This did not seem to be very business friendly.

The hotel lies in perfect position at the Auben Alster.
If you're looking for a good hotel close to the center but although quiet, then its a good choice.

Fabulous staff and lovely location along the alster.
Great value. The only reason you can get reduced rates is the weakness of the dollar and its proximity to the US embassy-which has torn up the street in front of it as it reinforces itself. Great staff and wonderful facilities (room service, gym, etc).

The hotel is still in walking distance to the city center of Hamburg.
My suitcase was severely damaged by the hotel and I didn't even hear an apology for that!
Usually I am very happy with this hotel chain, but this was the saddest experience I made so far at an Intercontinental hotel.

Very pleasant, helpful staff.
Exorbitant rates for sauna and mini-bar (7 euro for small bottle of water).
Charming hotel, with clean rooms and common areas very nice pool and gym area. Location pretty convenient and near public transportation and with a view of the lake. Professional staff. Only negative was a very loud party in the hotel parking lot during our first night that lasted well into the morning hours, and which the hotel did not seem to be able to quell.
