The artwork throughout the hotel and decor made for an interesting experience.
Busy streets surrounding the hotel.
Our entire stay exceeded expectations. From the valets to hotel staff to waiters, all provided excellent service. The room and public areas were spotless, warm, and inviting. Many reviews we read were complaints about lack of privacy inside the room but we found that the layout made for a romantic settings. We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at the GB and would definitely stay again when in the area. read more

decor, wonderful bed, cool entertainment internet access
weird placement of the shelf/seat in shower stall
My husband & I had a wonderful anniversary stay at this hotel. Although I'd agree decor is not to everyone's taste, it was attractive and it was nice to be surrounded by art throughout the hotel. Not that we used it much, but the entertainment/internet service (free) hooked up to the flat screen was pretty cool & very convenient for making dinner reservations or checking reviews on local restaurants. One issue with room service was resolved quickly to our satisfaction. I would definitely recommend it to a friend for business or pleasure. Shower was the only odd thing. The shower head is rainfall type & could be moved slightly, but not enough to totally avoid contact with the shelf type seat. It seemed to be placed on the wrong side of the shower. I am pretty slim and I kept thinking that a larger person might be very unhappy showering there... unless they were seated?? There was a huge soaking type tub in the room which we didn't use, but would be nice if you are a tub person/couple. But overall, I think it was a cool hotel & we'd definitely choose it again for our next trip to Asheville read more

It was spotless everywhere, and the staff was so fantastic and friendly!
Nothing.
This hotel was the perfect place for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary. The decor was very beautiful with a outdoors rustic flair. It was very romantic. The staff waited on us hand and foot no matter what part of the hotel. We enjoyed the exquisite dining. We used their spa for half of a day. Wow! I could go on and on!!!

The room decor was beautiful and very comfortable.
Communal areas were small. Felt crowded and somewhat dark.
The hotel communal areas were interesting, dramatic, and very unusual. The rooms were so comfortable and beautiful and modernly eclectic. I enjoyed the artwork throughout the hotel tremendously.

I enjoyed the art, lobby and staff.
The second floor smelled like kitty litter and the lobby smell of raid.
