Hawthorn Suites Lubbock

After 1 night of stay our room was not cleaned up good. Carpet needed to be vacuumed. There was no shampoo conditioner etc in our room. It was nice but have stayed in really plush hotels for the same amount of money.

I have never had a worse experience than my stay at the Hawthorn Suite. The 1st room, the air condition cooling system did not work very well. I set the temp at 60 degrees, however, the room felt like very humid 78 degrees, that was one issue. The 2nd issue was the water fall in the bath room. Every time you use the shower you had a water fall coming out of the side wall. We had to use all our towels on the wet floor and step around the soggy mess. They did offer to switch us to another room, however that room was worse. I guess the worst was receiving a very lame apology for the inconveniences. What ever happened to trying to make up for the inconvenience and bad experiences? To sincerely listening to customers complain instead of saying so what do want me to do about it or, sorry it’s not my fault, I was so disappointed with Hawthorn and I very seriously doubt I will ever return. read more

Great amenities and refurbishing. Very clean and accommodating. Very accessible to campus. Great staff. Would recommend this hotel for affordability and quality.

I had high expectations of this hotel. It opened in January of 2009 and my visit was in August. Check in was simple and the staff was great. Upon arriving in my room I checked out the bathroom facilities. Ick. There was obvious soap scum in the shower. When I called the front desk they quickly moved me to another room. The bathroom in the new room was a little bit cleaner but not by much. I decided to give it a go myself even though it was 11pm. I assumed that if two rooms where like this, they all would be. I had trouble breathing that night and couldn't figure out why. After the second night I did a good look over. On top of the headboard was MASSIVE dust. They accept pets at this facility. I am allergic to dog dander. The room just wasn't properly cleaned. I made a direct complaint to the manager and requested that he visit the room. He was not happy with it either. I was comped for one night stay and the room was vigorously cleaned. Unfortunately I left the next day! Regardless, the room was gorgeous, the pool was devine (just be careful of the towels. The new green ones left a tint of green dye on my hands and in my hair), and the bar was hot, hot, hot! read more

I would stay again and again.

The hotel public spaces were too small for a hotel of that size. But the room was spacious and very comfortable.
