Location was close to bourbon street but removed from the hoopla.
The area stunk and wasn't clean.

It was conveniently located, near a variety of shopping areas, restaurants and motor services.
Overall, the hotel definitely met my expectations. There is a wonderful restaurant located inside the hotel called Dragos. I stayed for five days, after four days of eating outside the hotel I finally tried this restaurant. It was by far the best food I ate while in New Orleans. The hotel service was excellent. The two pools were extremely small for this size hotel and the large number of guest they try to accommodate. read more

Close to French Quarter and Riverwalk Shopping.
No negative aspects.
Rooms were clean and quiet. Hotel lobby is on the 11th floor rather than on 1st floor. 2 block walk to Canal St, directly across from Bourbon St. - very convenient. Breakfast at hotel restaurant was full of options and fairly reasonably priced ($12 per person). If you want to experience the French Quarter without worrying about noise, this is as good a place to stay as any - provided you can get the price right. read more

Very convenient location.
The room tax? I would much prefer they simply add it to the cost of the hotel. $20 is ridiculous.
Great hotel, conveniently located, Nice pleasant staff. Something was wrong with the thermostat though. Non controllable. The air in the bedroom got very hot during the night.

No long corridors; privacy.
The AC did not cool as much as we'd like.
The hotel was nice, and our room was private. The rooms were organized on floors to not have corridors, they are sort of just long mazes.

Plenty of towels.
Location, incorrect directions to the French Quarter and mandatory valet parking ($25).
If you are looking for a hotel that is awkwardly located, has staff that do not really have any idea where things are located in New Orleans and have an extra $25 on mandatory valet parking then this hotel is right up your alley.
