Construction.
I could not believe that the hotel breakfast buffet was $22 without a coupon. With a coupon the price went down to $6.50 which is a much more reasonable price. I had a $45 / day food allowance and blew most of that on breakfast. I can't believe that the room did not have any refrigerator and that the price of a soda ( only to be found in the hotel gift shop since there were no vending machines ) was $3.50 - another totally outrageous price. Thank goodness I didn't plug in for the $12.95 high-speed internet. read more

The massive rennovation.
This hotel is under massive renovation. It is very noisy during the day. You walk through a construction zone to get to the lobby. They should shut down the hotel while this very large renovation is underway.

Hotel had problems and had to transfer me to another hotel.
Hotel was facing problems and had to transfer me to the Embassy Row Hilton. They should have called me before I got there, but they were helpful and friendly to find me a room in a different hotel.

Great bed, lots of shops and restaurants nearby, safe.
Major construction work on-going, bar was terrible, lobby and public space shabby looking.
Stay away until construction finished. Staff friendly, and rooms comfortable, but not able to overcome union protesters, construction work, and limited common-area facilities.

Location. Staff was very nice.
Construction began every morning at 7am 20 feet below our window. Most of the hotel facilities were closed due to construction.

Good location, very clean room, comfy bed, strong water pressure, attached self-parking garage, and helpful staff.
Halls lighting wasn't excellent, garage to lobby then different lobby to room elevators were cumbersome.
Would stay here again for this price.

Not much, location maybe. Certainly not the ward man Marriot!
Smokey halls rooms that seemed very tired. Not a 3.5.
We got the Ward men park Marriott at 3.5 stars.

The staff and concierges were extremely helpful.
No free wireless and kids played games on the free computers.
Clean and recently renovated. Only four blocks to Dupont Circle Metro. Plenty of restaurants were nearby. Comfortable beds and attractive rooms.

Location is great and staff is attentive and professional.
The hotel is undergoing renovations and there are problems with labor. Was awakened early by picketers in front of the hotel.
The location of this hotel is excellent and it is receiving a much needed makeover. Should be great when it is done. But, there are labor problems there and I was awakened by a picket line and did not particularly care for crossing a picket line. Also, the construction was a bit noisy. The condition took me a bit by surprise.
