Convenient location.
Old.
Hotel with history. They've remodeled obviously but still has the ancient feel. Room heaters are noisy. Cute courtyard, etc.

For the most part the place was clean and neat and the grounds are beautiful.
The windows were dirty. Otherwise no complaints.
The hotel has improved from the time. The room was clean and neat. The only complaint I have was the windows were dirty.

Did have a historic feel.
Charming feel with weird layout. Rooms were reasonable size, but heating units were louder than average. Not bad, but didn't exceed expectations.

I liked the history associate with the hotel.
The rooms should have reflected the star rating more accurately.
This is a fine hotel if you find yourself staying in Santa Maria. There are certainly more picturesque locations a bit farther North, but for the money this hotel was good. The staff was very friendly and the hotel had a neat history associated with it.

This is an historic hotel with charm and class plus a beautiful garden.
Food in restaurant at breakfast wasn't very desirable.
This hotel has the charm of the early 1900's. The room is more basic then most 3 star but is because of the age and the hotels desire to maintain the early 1900 atmosphere. The hotel is in two parts. The historic part and the more modern part constructed in the late 1980's. My preference is the historic part and would stay again if I have the chance.

Nothing.
The room was small, musty and everything in the room was from the 80's.

The bathroom was clean.
The hotel smelled funny.
This is an old hotel, that is not kept up very well. The pool and hot tub were filthy. The halls have trays of old room service food out at all hours.

The front desk and the manager were so helpful beyond my expectation.
We reserved the room with a 2 full size bed. When we checked in and I tried to ask if we can upgrade it to two-queen beds and to my surprise it was granted with no cost. I also requested a microwave and it was brought in the room by a lady staff who was so courteous. I was impressed at the great customer service this hotel has to a first time customer like my family.

I liked that the old features were left intact at remodel.
The way the refrigerator was placed in the room was tacky.
