The location of the hotel was excellent - walking distance to just about everything I was interested in. The staff was uniformly helpful.
The carpets are a bit tired and there was a faint musty odor in the room when I first got there.

The public spaces in the hotel are clean and attractive. The staff was great, especially the concierge. I spoke with him the first morning I was there. He steered me towards the best tours and restaurants and arranged for a reliable car service to take me out to the Huntley, which is about a 15 minutes ride away from the hotel. All of his suggestions were first rate and he contributed a great deal to an outstanding trip. read more

The hotel in the common areas where fine. But in the room the trashcans where dirty with ketchup in theme they just put the trash bags over them without cleaning them. When we return in the night we realized we had no remote for the TV and none of the channels worked. The ironing board had no pad. Overall a very poor.

The staff was very helpful.
Hidden Charges, such as parking.

Overall, I had an excellent stay at this hotel. It was clean, but pricy.

Location, near College of Charleston for parents.
Wait to be seated and served for breakfast.

Perfect spot for visiting my College of Charleston student. Clean, friendly and convenient.

Room was extremely well decorated and spacious for the price range.
Neighborhood was a bit questionable, with a lot of people walking about late at night.

Overall, an excellent value for the room rate. Hotel was located in a good location in the Historic District. Room reminded me of a very upscale hotel, even though the room rate was reasonable for the geographic location. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Only complaint was that the hotel ran out of parking locations, and we had to park across the street at a church. Thankfully, the church loaned the parking lot to the hotel at no charge; therefore, no difficulty was experienced in parking. read more

Concierge Kevin McQueen was outstanding with his recommendations and knowledge of Charleston.
The trash can in the parking garage was over flowing.

The concierge, Kevin McQueen, made tour and restaurant recommendations and reservations that made this an outstanding trip to Charleston.

Concierge was very helpful in selecting places to visit and found us a super restaurant.
The view from our room was a brick wall! The hotel was a longer walk to the center of things in Charleston than we had thought.

We enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was very good and reasonable. The hotel was very attractively furnished and we enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch. We were also front in line for a parade from the citadel and other military groups which went right past the hotel! The staff were friendly and the concierge was extremely helpful with directions and ideas for places to see etc. The restaurant serves a very nice breakfast selection and is very reasonable. We would stay there again. read more
