Staff very helpful. Restaurant excellent. Breakfast Buffet Wonderful.
The exercise room is not open before 8:00 a.m. or after 8:00 p.m.

Overall, a good place to stay. Met or exceeded my expectations. The staff were very helpful with every little thing I needed.

The maid.
Filthy carpet and bedspread.

Maybe I expected more because I know that the last two Holiday Inn Express Hotels that I used were tastefully decorated, were very clean, etc. and I thought it would be the same with the one in Chico. Walking barefoot on the rug ended up with me having black feet because it was old and obviously not well cleaned. I liked the amenities with the in-room coffee, the microwave, the refrigerator, TV/with remote, and the bathroom. The bedspread had what was obviously "biological deposits" and it was the third day before I asked it be removed. This request was promptly satisfied. I really liked the breakfast - the very best part was a chef that cooked fabulous omelets! The potatoes were very dry and the sausage so cooked they broke in half easily. Extremely engaging and friendly service.
I had a breakfast sausage with a bad taste (yesterday's reheats?).

The night clerk was outstanding. I'd return just to see her friendly smile. Room adequate. One breakfast item a bit off.

I found this hotel to be well above my expectations. Very clean, comfortable room with above average amenities. I will stay there again.

Location and staff.
Construction, beds, A/C not working, room location, run down.

I'm not one to complain but this was the worst hotel experience I've had. It wasn't half as nice as another Chico hotel I've stayed at that is only rated 2 stars. Checked in at 4:30 and there was a worker in the room. On site bar/restaurant was not open. Came back at 10:30. The bed was hard and A/C did not work. Room got to 78 overnight.

Staff's were friendly.
It is under renovation, not a great room.

The staff was very friendly with any questions I had. The breakfast buffet was a great deal. Unfortunately, they are going through major renovations. The hotel room bed was old and nothing special.
