Holiday Inn Columbus Downtown Capitol Square

I'm used to staying in 4 - 5 star hotels when I travel for work, so I wasn't expecting much when I found out. I'm a penny-pincher though so for what we paid, we were overall pleased. It was a little older, therefore it had that musty, Older-hotel smell to it. Our room was clean, for the most part. Linens & towels were very clean and fluffy. Bathtub was sanitary, but black stains on the textured bottom were a little scary. Room had a musty, once-smoked-in smell to it but we got over it quickly. Walls are paper thin, but we were fortunate to have quiet neighbors in our hallway. We did hear a few door slams in the middle of the night which cannot be prevented since that's just what big, heavy, old, metal hotel doors do. Newer hotels are usually more sound-proof than this one was. The lobby of the hotel was beautiful and the pool was brand new, which left a very nice first impression. Rooms have been updated somewhat, but could use a little more TLC. Hallways looked like they had been partied in a little, but fortunately there were no loud parties there that night. Like I said, overall we were pleasantly surprised. After the $10 we spent on parking and $30 on breakfast for 2 adults & 2 toddlers. Most newer hotels would have cost about $50 more but would have offered free parking and breakfast. Guess that's the chance you take when you bid! read more

The hotel wads OK for a business trip. It was sufficient for our family. I actually would like to make a formal complaint. Holiday tried to make the error better for our stay, but was very uncomfortable.

Very pleasantly surprised - by hotel and staff. Location was great for visiting Ohio Statehouse, Franklin Park Conservatory and German Village. Centrally located to all.

I've stayed at this hotel three times and I've had several issues during all three stays: restaurant (short staffed) (two hours for dinner) (out of a lot of food items), room issues, key card issues, phone issues, shuttle service problems, on demand movies problems. I would not recommend this hotel.

The Holiday Inn downtown Columbus, Ohio is very conveniently located and easy to access. Upon entering the hotel I was impressed with the well appointed and clean interior decor and furnishings. The guest rooms were equally clean, nicely furnished and decorated. The staff was extremely helpful, considerate and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this hotel as well as, choose to stay here again. read more

Good, if your just sleeping then leaving. Beds were comfy.

Everyone was great. The people at the front desk did not make people wait I was checked into the room with in 5 min of walking in the front door even though we arrived about an hour early, The courtesy van took us where we wanted to go and picked us up check out was just as fast.
