Description of Holiday Inn Darling Harbour
Emanating a quiet charm right in the middle of the action, Holiday Inn Darling Harbour has the best that Sydney has to offer on its doorstep. A heritage listed former Wool Store cloaks the northern wing of the hotel in history. Situated in the Southern end of Sydney?s central business district, the hotel is ideally positioned to allow you to make the most of your visit to Sydney. Take a leisurely stroll through Darling Harbour with its many attractions. The vibrant Chinatown and Latin Quarter are close by and the Sydney Entertainment Centre right across the road. You can walk to some of Sydney's best restaurants, theatres and shopping complexes. For something a little different, board a ferry, monorail or light rail for sightseeing. Trains and buses to Pitt Street Mall shopping precinct, Circular Quay or the airport are nearby too. read more

The beds were wonderful as were the staff.
The food in the restaurant was over priced and not that tasty.

This hotel is great value for the money! The location is great, the rooms are lovely, and the staff is very helpful.

Clean, convenient, and comfortable - an A Plus!
You need to use your key card to activate the elevator. So I need to fumble to get my card to get the elevator moving!

Easy walk to Darling Harbor and to public transportation.
Room was dark (they're conserving electricity) and next to the monorail.

The hotel did not meet my expectations. The location was good. It's only a short walk to Darling Harbor and to various forms of public transportation. However, the room itself was very dark. Apparently, the hotel is trying to save energy (which is a good thing) but it was really difficult to read or use the computer in the evening because of the lack of light. Also, the monorail ran literally no more than 6 feet outside the window of the room. So, this added some noise until about 10:30 on weeknights and closer to midnight on weekends. In addition, in-room internet usage cost 55 cents per minute. There was no option to bundle the charges for a day, 3 days, a week, etc. I found that quite expensive. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and the concierge was really helpful. read more

Great rooms and location.
Pricy internet.

This hotel exceeded my expectations as it was listed as a 3 star and definitely seemed more a 4 star-internet & phone calls were very pricy though.

Located near Cockle Bay - nightlife and excellent cruising.

I travel a lot and the main 2 things that are important to me in a hotel are a clean room and safe hotel. I do not spend much time in the room - there are too many things to see and do. This hotel is great if you are not planning on camping out in the room. It is a short walk from Cockle Bay which has the best restaurants, If you want to go to Circular Quay, Bondi Beach, etc. buy a day pass on the tram and enjoy being with the locals on the bus, tram and ferry. read more
