Location, Price.
They missed cleaning behind the bathroom door, There was a packet of pills on the floor.

This hotel was met my need to be able to spend time with family members in the Dubuque area.

Great location, friendly staff, beautiful lobby, great parking.
The pool was a little small.

Great location, staff, room was great. Bed was comfortable; overall the hotel was clean and warm. Would stay here again the next time I'm in the area.

Didn't vacuum under the heater/heater area leaked cold air.

Nice location to downtown stores, walking distance from many attractions.

Very friendly front desk staff.
Room was a little noisy due to mechanical area in walls.

Check in was very easy and quick. Woman at front desk was very friendly and represented the hotel quite well. Nice common areas. Room was very clean and well appointed.

Dogs present a problem for overall cleanliness and attractiveness of hotel.

Probably will stay again because of convenience.

Parking is very convenient.
No negatives.

The hotel is downtown and near things you want to see. It is a short distance from gambling. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable.

Location and covered parking.
Slow elevators, could use new mattresses.

We have stayed here before. We love the location, plus the hotel is very well decorated and taken care of. It has always been a pleasant experience.

Common areas were nice. The staff was friendly and tried to be helpful.
Housekeeping was bad even when complained about.

The Holiday Inn is in Dubuque (downtown) not in Galena. This is a typical hotel room, nothing special except that housekeeping was almost non existent. We stayed three nights and never had our beds changed. They pulled up the covers and didn't even straighten out the bottom sheet. They did not clean the coffee pot or the cups and glasses we used. The hotel is close to the river and all of the gambling. Would not stay there again. read more

Need to learn ADA standards and enforce them.
