Hotel was OK, a bit outdated. Hotel is basically near nothing close that I could find including stores, places to eat, etc.

The reviews were HORRIBLE on this specific hotel. We scared to go, but it turned out nice!
It was great overall!

We were pleasantly surprised at how decent this hotel turned out to be! After we read the reviews on this hotel, we thought we would encounter a dump. The hotel staff was helpful and the room was very nice and clean. We ordered room service for breakfast and it was PERFECT! Overall, we are glad we had a very good experience!

Very convenient to where I was going.

From the reviews that I read, I was quite concerned about the hotel. I chose it though, since it was only a few blocks away from where I was going. I was very pleasantly surprised by the room, bath, etc. It was very clean and comfortable. I didn't use any of the facilities so I can't comment.

I stay at this hotel several times a year. It is close to Hartford downtown, reasonably well maintained, and offers free parking.

Friendly & helpful staff.
Smell and cleanliness could certainly improve.

This hotel has the potential to be a lot more attractive if it were just a little cleaner and the carpet smell is treated and controlled. The smell wasn't horrible, but present, and with a little baking soda, turning up the air conditioning or allowing ventilation, it is no longer a real bother. The elevators were unclean, with marks and dirty traces on their walls that show lack of cleaning attention. The microwave and fridge were definite plus for the room. Despite its physical drawbacks, the staff was friendly and helpful, willing to assist. read more

Cleaning staff did not knock when they entered the room.

Hotel overall was a nice place. There were mouse traps in the perimeter of the pool, there was only one restaurant actually near the hotel. The hotel lounge was just a horseshoe bar and not much else. We didn't eat in the restaurant so I really can't rate that. The staff was not friendly and not welcoming at any point but I accept that the general attitude of that area of Hartford because it was the same all over, except in Columbia. read more

Poor, irresponsible staff; dirty facilities; broken exercise equipment; and cigarette holes in bedsheets.

I will never stay at this hotel again. Room stank of cigarette smoke with cigarette burn holes in bedsheets. Staff was indifferent and irresponsible. Room key kept getting disabled. Exercise equipment was broken. Manager was shouting at staff in front of customers. Toilet didn't flush appropriately. Poor quality of lotion and shampoo and no conditioner.
