Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Rochester - Marketplace

The hotel overall was nice. My only disappointment was that they were running out of food at the breakfast buffet. While the food was eventually replenished, it appeared that the kitchen was not able to handle the crowd at the time we ate. We had read very good reviews on the buffet prior to our stay, but we must have hit a bad time.

The area has apparently been experiencing a minor crime wave involving a series of car break-ins. Customers were warned to bring all valuable in with them - keep in mind if you're traveling with a lot of stuff.

This hotel was well decorated and well maintaned. We enjoyed using the business center and the breakfast was a joy.

After discovering that my 18 year old daughter and i had inadvertantly changed out of our bathing suits in front of a party full of drunken men, the hotel did absolutely nothing to apologize or make ammends in any way. Our room window was about 4 feet from this party and we didn't realize due to the fact that it was dark out and it looked as if the shades were drawn. I was told "well, I don't know what you expect me to do about it?" I was disappointed in this hotel in truth the room was much smaller than it appeared in the pics. Soundproofing is to be sure lacking. Most of the night we could hear people talking and moving about in the hall as loudly at times as though they were in our room. In fact this awoke our son who was then awake most the night. The crib brought up was unclean also there was a gummi bear stuck to the wall putting into question the level of cleaniness. The place was really a budget motel more than a hotel in my opinion. One final thought, dont count on the clock radio to wake you up--it was incapable of making any sort of sound. read more

I would recommend this hotel for business travelers. Small families would have to get a suite.
