Holiday Inn Rockland

The hotel is a little far out if you want to do stuff in Boston but it was perfect for us because we wanted to go to Boston and Plymouth. The staff was very nice, room was clean and overall experience met my expectations for a 3 star hotel.

One example: As I struggled with a cooler of food, the desk clerk told me to use one of the valet carts. There were employees nearby who could at least have helped me lift it onto one. They charged extra for a refrigerator/or microwave. Cheap I've never had that happen.

Other than on the desk or bed, there was no place to set a suitcase or two except on the floor. Very odd. The toilet/tub was in a separate room with no hook for clothes, no shelf except a wire towel rack. I had to put my glasses on the toilet - along with all my clothes - when I went in the shower. This is very poor design.

Friendly staff, clean and luxurious, heated pool indoors, gym, niece restaurant with friendly people. I did not like the location though, but I rather stay here and drive a couple of minutes extra than staying in another noisy place. Would repeat my stay!

Everything was nice here except for the hotel restaurant. We paid $10.95 each for a breakfast buffet but they only had 3 plates out. We kept asking for more plates so the rest of us could eat but it took them 20 minutes to bring the plates and another 15 minutes to replenish food. No bowls for the cereal, no glasses for the juice. No cream for the coffee. The rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. The outside pool was clean and very cozy with a lot of chairs to lay out on. The bar lounge was a little over priced and no music offered. The location of the hotel was very convenient to where we were visiting and local stores were easy to find. I would stay there again but I would definitely eat elsewhere. read more
