The Holiday Inn San Clemente Downtown Resort overlooks the blue Pacific Ocean in the center of the lovely beach community of San Clemente, 5 minutes from world famous Trestles surfing beach. It's halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego, a serene world away from the faster urban pace of its larger neighbors. Legoland, Disneyland and Knott?s Berry Farm are a 40 minute drive. Description said it was a short walk to the beach. It was 1/2 mile down a big hill.

The room we had was against the freeway.

When I asked if we could upgrade to a room with a balcony and a view we were told that it was overcast and we wouldn't be able to see anything anyway.

The hotel was ok. The staff was friendly and cooperative.
It was just ok.

The hotel is fine for an overnight stay. The staff was helpful. When we got to our room, it was one bed with a sofa sleeper and a bathtub in the room. We were in a hurry and needed to get ready to go to a wedding. We had to run down to the desk and change rooms. They had none left but were kind enough to offer a manager room that was adequate. We were almost late for the wedding due to the room error and traffic. read more
