Nice hotel with great, friendly, and a helpful staff. Not too far from the cruise port where I was headed. I appreciated the free WiFi.
Kind of in a strange location. Not really close walking distance to anywhere.
I only stayed one night but enjoyed my stay. Staff was great. Restaurant isn't much of a restaurant but I did get a passable lunch there and a muffin in the morning. Room was pretty nice, beds were comfy. Overall, would stay there again for sure.

Clean rooms.
High parking fee of 14 dollars per night.
Everywhere around the hotel are parking lots and they charged 14 dollars per night...that is not what I exspected from Holiday Inn.

Wished the hotel had a bigger lobby and pool. I did not care for the round parking lot.
Hotel rooms are good. Staff was great and friendly. Wished the hotel had a bigger lobby and bigger pool. I did not care for the round parking lot. Our rooms faced the highway and it was noisy at night.

Convenience - close to
freeway and downtown.
Freeway is loud.
This hotel was convenient to the freeway and downtown San Diego. It was out of the way, which was nice. The only downside was no view of the ocean and the freeway was loud. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very accommodating.

The price was nice. The hotel was right off the freeway.
It did not have a hot tub or conditioner in the bathroom.

The staff was pleasant and friendly.
The parking was an extra fee.
The hotel was fine for a small trip, I stayed for three nights. The only thing that I didn't really like about it was the extra cost of parking. If you are planning to have family or friends visit you at the hotel, they too have to pay for parking.

The friendliness of the staff was outstanding!
The beds were small.
I was very pleased with this hotel. The rooms were decorated beautifully and the staff was incredibly kind and pleasant to work with. The location was wonderful and I would recommend this to friends and family.

The renovated rooms and location.
Small size rooms, tiny restaurant and lobby areas. Poor food.
I had a bad impression as soon as I walked in because of the tiny lobby and restaurant which was more like a small cafe. The rooms have been tastefully renovated but are fairly small and awkward shaped due to the architecture of the building. This Holiday Inn Express was not as nicely appointed as others I've stayed in, but it was adequate and I would stay there again.

The price.
The room, no free continental breakfast.
I've stayed in San Diego for the same trade show many times. This was the worst stay yet. To start, the rooms were shaped strangely due to the architecture of the building (cylinder shape). Then at 3:00 AM, we were over come by the stench of old socks that had been left by the previous occupant! Next the sheets on one bed had small stains. Also the bathroom lacked a fan, so you can imagine how that went, and the bathroom door was a sliding door with frosted glass! It did not lock either. read more

Was very close to several major attractions.
Bad neighborhood, poor service, rooms smelled.
The hotel is in a very poor neighborhood (between a Methadone clinic and a homeless shelter). Parking in the hotel lot is $12.00 a day, which should have been specified to me ahead of time. Initially we were given only 1 bed in all 3 of the rooms, so had to be switched rooms and then the rooms with 2 beds were clearly not the kings. The new rooms smelled, the toilets ran, the television did not work, the front desk was unreachable many nights, they have a notice in the bathroom asking you to reuse your towels, we had to leave a notice on the door or else they would not change the linens and the rooms were not vacuumed once in the 6 days we stayed there. read more
