The Holiday Inn South Bay - San Diego is a newly renovated hotel located just five miles South of Downtown San Diego, and the Convention Center. The hotel is near all San Diego attractions, such as the World Famous San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Knott's Soak City USA, ARCO Olympic Training Center, Coors Amphitheater, Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego International Airport, Petco Park, Cruise Ship Terminal, Tijuana, Mexico and so much more. We offer easy freeway access, and are walking distance to the Trolley Station. We offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the San Diego Airport and Amtrak Station, and within a five mile radius, from 6:30am - 9:30pm, based on availability. The Holiday Inn is a full service hotel offering 180 deluxe guest rooms, some with views of the San Diego Bay and our majestic naval ships. Staff is friendly & helpful.

We checked in late, almost midnight but staff is very helpful. The next morning another staff helped us giving direction to places we wanted to go.

Don't care too much for high balconies overlooking streets.

I was very pleased with this hotel and hope to stay there again. It was very nice, neat and the bed was very comfortable. I had a blast there!

Nothing.
1st room on 4th floor unacceptable, dirty carpets, sagging bedding, mold-horrible!

After much complaining I was moved to 8th floor where the room was acceptable. It was ascertained that the lower floors of hotel were not remodeled however the higher floors were.

Had a nice pool area.
No quilts on the bed. Weird.

It was OK for the price. There were no quilts on the bed, but they brought us blankets. The room was a bit musty. The lobby and reception area was nice and the employees were helpful.

Location to highway.
The receptionist had a condescending attitude and was not helpful in meeting our needs. We had to call for a manager to get help.

First room we got was not clean and was smelly. We asked for a room with 2 beds and was told they didn't have any. We found out later that was incorrect. The rooms were dark and dingy with spots all over the carpets, trash was under the bed. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I wish we had of waited until we got to town before we got a room. We would have had a better experience at motel six for less money. read more
