The chips are down at this old-timer that may be "centrally located" for casinos and ski slopes, but isn't worth the gamble for the many who claim it's "past its best days", with "shoddy" rooms, "sinking centers in the mattresses" and "multiple problems" with reservations; fortunately, the casino is "well maintained" (if "smoky") and the "pool is gorgeous", but most feel this is "not fit to be called a resort—though maybe 'the last resort.'"

Large rooms, great views of the lake and good staff.
The all you can eat food was not the best.

My Family went for a Reunion, about 20 of us stayed from 2 to 4 nights. The price was right and the rooms large and great views of the lake. Only hotel with a pool, but to busy to enjoy it. Resturant was nice for breakfest, but buffet not the best.

It was right on the strip.
No AC in room. It was unbareable to be in.

Room was clean and comfortable. Big downside though, no AC in room and it was smoldering hot.

Our rooms were too hot (82 degrees) and there was nothing that could be done to cool them.

The hotel is located on the strip near all the casinos. The rooms were spacious and simple. Hotel staff was friendly. Great views of Lake Tahoe, wonderful pool.

Parking was convenient. The parking structure was patrolled by security, we felt comfortable leaving vehicle unattended with items in it.
The hotel allows smoking; we are not smokers so the cigarette smell bothered us.

The room wasn't fancy, however it was clean and the staff was friendly. We ate at the buffet and feel that it was a very good value and very convenient.

Friendly staff, cheap food prices.
Long hall way from one tower to the next.

The horizon has a friendly staff, you get a newspaper in the morning, the pool is colder then the lake has a really long hall way from each tower. All in all great hotel.
