It was right next to the Chinatown gate.
The window in our room opened but didn't lock.

Location; hassle free.
Worn out mattress, old windows let in loud street noise, breakfast buffet too crowded.
The location was great if you like SF/Chinatown. A large parking garage was just across the street as well as a Starbucks. Old building with single pane windows let in a lot of street noise. I had to wear earplugs to sleep. The mattress was old and worn out. The TV only had three stations to watch. The breakfast buffet was very good and reasonable but one has to set at a large table among strangers. The walls were painted mauve. The housekeeping service was accommodating and polite. All in all an okay hotel. Very similar to the Grant Hotel located one block north. read more

Clean, safe and perfectly located.
The elevator was a little scary. Only 3 people at a time could ride in it.

Price.
Elevator!
For a business traveler, this hotel worked fine for me for the price. It's a little noisy at night from traffic. However, that didn't bother me. The elevator is old and could bounces some. The hotel is right next to the gates to Chinatown.
