Built in 1931 and recently spiffed up with a $12-million restoration, this "romantic" Downton art deco hotel makes fans "feel they're stepping back in time"; "retro" rooms have "modern luxuries", while "nice touches" like "free self-serve coffee" and an overnight Raid Our Pantry feature (offering sandwich fixings and other snacks) "mean a lot" to comfort-seekers; add in a "congenial" staff and a "lively bar" with live jazz, and you can almost overlook "limited restaurant options" and spotty housekeeping.

Great, old and historic hotel. Extremely friendly staff and very quiet even though it is on a very busy street. Comfy, beautiful and relaxing.

The "Raid Our Pantry" feature was unique and fun. Free milk and cookies after hours --- worth the experience just for that.
No self-parking. Only $20 valet option- horrible.

Clean and upscale. Prompt valet and luggage service. Beautiful hotel on the inside. Excellent bathrooms.
Room AC a little noisy. Limited power outlet locations in room.

Upscale and classy to a level you don't see often with major hotel chains. Great service, perfect location, clean rooms. Even though they don't list double bed rooms online, they'll offer it when you call the hotel. Conservative decoration in rooms. Luxurous bathroom.

Great location, within walking distance of many nice restaurants. Raid the pantry was open after 10 pm.

Loved the art deco/ history of the hotel.
