The Hotel Monaco Washington DC - 2009 is proud to announce the completion of its multimillion dollar guest room renovation. Orchestrated by California-based team design atelier, these exquisitely redesigned guest rooms maintain and enhance the original historic restoration of the us general Post Office Building, while combining contemporary styles, and modern colorations that let the guest know they are in a current, vibrant Washington DC destination hotel. The upgraded fabrics and furnishings are a mix of traditional designs infused with modern colors and scale that indulge the senses. Hotel Monaco Where History Stays in Style follows the historic roots of the 1839 Tariff Building location. Built on an entire city block in the style of a Roman Palazzo, complete with marble columns and facia, the 1839 Tariff Building has been meticulously restored in every detail. Hotel Monaco accentuates the buildings vintage architectural details with bold, modern furnishings and personal amenities. The hotel boasts a spacious "Living Room" lobby that incorporates three distinct sitting areas for which guests can mingle, relax and enjoy the hosted evening wine hour. Poste Moderne Brasserie entices locals and guests with its highly-regarded American menu and a slick, designer decor that flows out into the courtyard patio when the weather is right. A very nice hotel, the room that we had was somewhat small, but for just my wife and I it was not to bad, otherwise I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel.

Not the most comfortable bed or pillows, not bad, just not excellent.

Excellent location, walking distance to several great restaurants & attractions. Friendly staff. Attractive & clean rooms. Would definitely recommend this hotel & would stay here again.

Lack of space in the room.

Beautiful historical building, modern rooms but not spacious enough which is disappointing after alking in such impresive and large hallways. Great restaurant.

The staff was very friendly and decor was very nice.
No pool, rooms a little small.

The location is perfect for tourists! Close by everything! The hotel is very stylish and the rooms are decorated very nicely. The staff was extremely friendly and the valet parking staff was equally friendly! Overall, our stay was excellent and I have no complaints.

Minutes to Metro (3 lines) and 5:00
pm wine event!
Basement room was much smaller than expected and dungeon-like.

The staff is helpful and does a great job with the hosted wine party at 5:00 pm. The hotel is very quiet.
