The Hotel Monaco Washington DC - 2009 is proud to announce the completion of its multimillion dollar guest room renovation. Orchestrated by California-based team design atelier, these exquisitely redesigned guest rooms maintain and enhance the original historic restoration of the us general Post Office Building, while combining contemporary styles, and modern colorations that let the guest know they are in a current, vibrant Washington DC destination hotel. The upgraded fabrics and furnishings are a mix of traditional designs infused with modern colors and scale that indulge the senses. Hotel Monaco Where History Stays in Style follows the historic roots of the 1839 Tariff Building location. Built on an entire city block in the style of a Roman Palazzo, complete with marble columns and facia, the 1839 Tariff Building has been meticulously restored in every detail. Hotel Monaco accentuates the buildings vintage architectural details with bold, modern furnishings and personal amenities. The hotel boasts a spacious "Living Room" lobby that incorporates three distinct sitting areas for which guests can mingle, relax and enjoy the hosted evening wine hour. Poste Moderne Brasserie entices locals and guests with its highly-regarded American menu and a slick, designer decor that flows out into the courtyard patio when the weather is right. Rooms could have been larger.

I will definitely stay here again if I have the chance! But, I wouldn't put more than two people in a room, if getting a king room. Even with the roll-out bed they provide the room would be pretty cramped.

Staff was outstanding and helpful.

Stayed 3 days with 2 grandchildren 12 and 13. Staff was so helpful and friendly. Beds were so comfortable and facilities were good. Neighborhood was a bit scary within several blocks. Metro across the street. Happy hour was nice and a good social event. Altogether, a really nice stay .Would goes there again.
