Palomar has a new feeling to it. Dynamic decor, cozy fire to sit by, lively young people gathering at cocktail hour. Concierge very well informed and helpful to me as a DC tourist.

The front desk staff was very attentive and professional. They were very accomdating to all of our requests
This was my first visit at the Palomar Hotel and I was very pleased. The room a King Suite was spacious with a chase and desk which could double as a dinning table. The bathroom was well appointed the floor was tile and marble was used for the countertops everthing was very clean. However the toilet was too close to the tub and made getting in and out of the shower a little tricky. The appointments were contemporary with a quirky twist. The robes were leppard print with animal print socks to walk around in. The bed was comfortable and they use white duvets instead of bedspreads which I found to be crips and clean. read more

Have complimentary wine and sangria in the lobby between 5 and 6 pm.
The pool was too small and crowded to do laps easily, but then it is in the middle of a big city, and I was glad to have a pool at all.
The staff was genuinely friendly, helpful, and made us feel at home. The room and the decor of the hotel might best be described as retro art deco and was appealing. There was a nice mix of causally dressed family vacationers (our condition) along with the well turned out business travelers, so neither seemed out of place. All in all, especially for the price, a great place to stay in DC. read more

Happy hour, friendly doormen, yoga mats and sessions on TV.
Maid service weak for 4-star, would have liked in-room coffeemaker and fridge.
Loved the contemporary, elegant decor. Attractive lobby but too small for the very popular happy hour. You're free to take a glass of wine to your room, which was a nice alternative. Be sure to put dirty towels on the floor - the maids will ignore towels in the tub and leave ones hanging over the door. Free use of yoga mats and props, and sessions on TV, was a nice plus for us. Convenient location, close to Metro. read more

The rooms were very big. The decor was beautiful.
The restaurant did not meet my expectations.
The hotel was beautiful. The location was perfect. The hotel staff (with the exception of the restaurant) was very friendly and competent.

The hotel and people were very nice, but the smell of cleaning spray was so over powering that we had to complain as it gave us all a very bad headache.
