Staff made me feel like family, rare in a hotel this size.
It's trivial, but there are lots of stairs connecting the buildings, which could be problematic for the mobility impaired.

This was a delightful experience: the hotel has a great deal of historic charm combined with the most modern amenities. Bathroom, though small, is beautifully appointed with marble and mosaic tiles. Room had adjustable thermostatic, large screen TV, wooden beams and exposed brick wall. Great views, too! Staff is welcoming, gracious and very helpful without being overbearing.

Staff was great and hotel was extremely clean and elegant.
Only thing I didn't like was the room size. Very small room for 5 stars.

Hotel is in a great location and is very elegant. From the minute you walk in the staff is looking to help you. The hotel gives you a great first impression, however, the size of the room was very disappointing. I've been to many 5 star hotels around Europe and this was by far the smallest room. Very bad "bang for the buck". This is a 4 star hotel, definitely not a 5 just because of the room. Everything else about the hotel is great and you will leave satisfied. read more

Very clean with a professional staff.
The awkward layout of the hotel.

It was good for a European hotel, the staff was professional, but not very warm. Do not use the room phone for even local calls, it was 8 Euros for one call to a local cell phone. We ate breakfast one day, and the food was almost worth the 22 Euros per person, it was pretty good. The room was very nice, not super comfortable the hotel gym was poorly equipped and half (of the 4) machines were inoperative - the concierge service was very helpful in getting us reservations in clubs and restaurants. read more

Location was great, it was quiet clean and comfortable.
Lacked in room coffee maker.

The hotel was very nice, and the room was pleasant. It overlooked the canal and was very clean. There were some services but no iron in the room. The room, shower and bathroom were all relatively small, but this may be the way things are in Amsterdam. If it was a 4-star hotel, I would have been perfectly happy. But I expect a special experience in a 5-star hotel.

It was perfect! Comfortable, classy, and plush with a staff that made you feel like you had paid full price.
I couldn't possibly think of a thing!

Possibly the only thing nicer than a trip to Amsterdam is a trip to Amsterdam with a stay at the Pulitzer. An incredible staff who seems to strive to please all; lovely accommodations; first class service all around. I can't recommend this hotel more highly!
