Nice exterior appearance, great staff, decent location.
Parking, bugs in room, shower didn't drain properly.

Overall the hotel was OK. The staff was very friendly. Room wasn't great, we killed a few bugs & the shower didn't drain properly, which is never a good thing. And it was a bit loud when guests in room above us were walking around. When we drove up we loved the look of the hotel. Great location for dining close by. Parking expense was removed from our tab when we expressed our concerns with the room upon checkout. read more

I liked the architecture and location. Loved the flat screen in room. Very comfortable beds!
Had to pay for internet and parking.

The hotel was great. Wonderful location and very friendly staff. Rooms were unique and had a certain charm. The beds were quite comfortable. Staff was great in making suggestions on attractions to see and in giving directions to different places.

Convenient location.
Awful pillows, too soft. A little noisy as well, we could hear dogs barking in another room.

Prime location, delicious food and lovely accommodations.
A nicely updated old hotel with thin walls and a bit noisy. Had to pay for TV music channel.

Hotel Viking is beautiful, the room was comfortable and well appointed. Loved the heat controls, worked very nicely.

Upgraded room was great.
Newport Wing room didn't fit in historical hotel.

Everyone working at the hotel was very nice. We arrived on a Friday and it was really busy, seemed like a few weddings were taking place over the weekend; service was still great. We used the Priceline negotiator and got really good priced rooms. I noticed other reviews, people had complaints about the Newport Wing of the hotel which was where our room was so I had my expectations. When we got to the room it was very much like the others stated; not historic and looked like it was built sometime in the 90's. We called the front desk and they showed us a room in the main historic part of the hotel. This room was great! It was worth the price. People complained about the size of the bathrooms, but you come to a hotel like this for it's historic charm, not it's 21th century over sized everything. The lobby was great along with the bar. We planned on parking ourselves on the street to avoid the $25 a night parking, but when we got there it just wasn't worth the hassle. I would defiantly recommend staying here as long as you are in the main building of the hotel and not the Newport Wing. read more
