Howard Johnson Express

This motel was scary. It was a dump, in a bad section of town and used as low income housing for inner city folks. The breakfast was empty cereal containers in a room filled with gangster kids listening to very loud gansta rap.

I thought hotel was pretty great. I booked a smoking king because that was the cheap option Priceline offered, but the desk attendant was kind enough to switch me to a non-smoking king with a balcony. It was so very nice of him. My only gripes were that our blanket on the bed had a couple of stains on it, but I was too tired to complain. Also, there were 3 hair towels, one wash cloth, and 1 hand towel, which was an odd collection. And the ice machine/vending machines were all in a room across from the lobby - very inconvenient for weary travelers. read more

The beds were comfortable. The air conditioner was nice and cold. The room was clean, the continental breakfast was good. The location was awesome. Near many restaurants and a WalMart!

Burn holes in chair, rug and bathroom filthy, someone unknown, how opened door at 2 am , people living in on a weekly basis.

For the price hotel was OK however bathrooms were not cleaned windows had hand prints all over them breakfast area was not the cleanest.

Wall paper was hanging down from the wall. Bathroom area was old and not kept up to date. The chair in the room was broken. We stayed in the wings of the hotel which probably dated from the 1950's.
