Howard Johnson Hotel Riverside Grand Island

The big room was a surprise much larger than I would have expected along with the beds, etc. It was clean and comfortable. Elevators seemed hard to locate and every thing was spread out from the lobby area.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The on site restaurant was clean and the food was very good. While the hotel decorating could be modernized, the hotel was not run down.

We checked in, a couple came in as we were checking in asking what a room would cost for the night? Don't think we'll stay there again, as there was a Holiday Inn in town. The hallways / stairs were filthy, the entrance was impossible to find, and the staff person at the desk that night was picking her nose.

Once you find it, then everything else falls into place. Could improve the restaurant menu and service quality.

I shouldn't complain because I read the reviews on this place so I should have known what I was in for. For the money, I didn't expect much, but I thought in the middle of NE. in August, maybe the AC would work. Not only did the AC not work, but it didn't look like there had been any attempt to fix it in 20 years. Probably the last time the carpets were shampooed. The pool area was actually very nice and had a great shallow end for kids. The restaurant was nice with a good menu

Clean, well represented, and very large.

Nice motel.

I enjoyed staying at the Howard Johnson. It was quiet and provided smoking rooms. It was extrememly cold outside and I didn't need to go out to smoke. The room was very clean. And the staff was very professional.
