Description of Howard Johnson Inn Ocala
Centrally located off I-75 at Exit 354, the hotel is just four miles from Downtown Ocala, The Middle District of Florida Ocala and The Marion County Circuit Court House, nine miles from Silver Springs Natural Theme Park/Wet and Wild, and 12 miles from Post Time Horse Farm where the annual Ocala HITS Horse Shows take place every winter. Within five miles of the hotel are two medical centers, Ocala Regional Medical Center and Munroe Regional, as well as over 30 chain restaurants along the SR 200 corridor. The hotel itself, with its 125 rooms liberally plotted on a 10 acre parcel of land, ample RV and boat parking, features a large outdoor 40,000 gallon heated swimming pool and adjoining outdoor spa tub, an on-site restaurant, an on-site car wash, an on site putt-putt golf course, an on-site basketball court, an on-site fitness facility, and lots of landscaped green areas to take that evening stroll or morning walk. The hotel has both smoking and permanent non smoking rooms. Stays include a deluxe complimentary continental breakfast with hot items. The restaurant serves dinner nightly with optional room service. Convenient traveling.
Awful surrounding the hotel!

I must say I was glad the police came to defuse the problems they were having! But it was not a restful place to stay to break a drive in hine site I should have kept driving!

Very friendly staff, even after we were 5 hours later to check-in than planned.
Drapes in room were about 6" too short in width to cover the full double window.

Easy to see from the exit. Actual driveway could use a bigger sign, but we did find it okay. Staff was very welcoming & helpful, even though my friend & I arrived just before midnight. Room was exceptionally clean, beds very comfortable, room temperature stayed at 73 degrees without turning on the heater. This was very nice when the morning temperature were about 40 degrees. I would recommend this hotel & use it again if in the area. read more

Kept fresh coffee in lobby.
Wall thermostat for A/C - couldn't run full time.

Hotel is old and door key was very hard to use. The outside smoking area was right outside of our room and people were always out there talking. Couldn't sleep in nor get much peach and quite.

Price, location, clean enough.
Something there triggered allergies.

I was a little disappointed given the 3 1/2 star rating. Just seemed a little seedy. But it was clean and did not feel unsafe. We got carry out dinners at their restaurant and were surprised they were as good as they were. (Got a shrimp dinner & the club sandwich). Did like the shampoo & conditioner - wish it said on label the brand or ingredients.

This is a great hotel. Swimming pool, hot tub, and room service.
I got sick and they brought me medicine straight to my room.

Staff was pleasant upon checking-in.
Pool closed to early, unable to unwind after hours of travel.

The hotel was exactly what I was looking for for the evening. However I would probably go for an extended stay or for a vacation stay. It was a bit noisy, and very out dated. However the outdoor smoking area was very nice and relaxing.

Great staff. They over killed with service and attitude.
Nothing bad to say.

This was a great hotel for me and my family to crash over night. No frills, but a super friendly staff and very clean. We ended up hanging at the pool and playing putt putt golf which helped entertain my children.

The hotel was very old and not maintained well. There were only two bath towels in the bathroom that were very small. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone for any reason.

Very friendly people, service was excellent.
Rooms could be freshened up and also need smokers rooms.

overall stay was very enjoyable service was tops, guests were also very friendly people
