Howard Johnson Inn Perry

The hotel surpassed their 1 star rating. The room could have been cleaner (used, fingerprints off mirrors, etc). We always get non smoking rooms (husband non smoker, me smoker. I try to dispose of cigarettes in proper disposals instead of on grounds however there was none at this hotel to use. Spa water was cold and was not working.

If it had not been a holiday weekend and so late in the day, we would have left and paid for another hotel. The staff not traveler friendly at all. They lock 2 out of 3 access doors to the pool area so you have to walk all the way around the hotel into the back door to use it, because "I don't like to have to mop" according to one of the staff members. Their sign in front of the hotel also says the pool is heated. Not, and not for some time, it is obvious. This was the last place we stayed in 3 weeks, and with the advertised amenities; breakfast, pool, hot tub, etc., we didn't understand why this hotel received only 1 star rating.
