Brand New Open July 2007 Located at the junction of interstate 10, Interstate 49 and directly on the Evangeline Thruway, the Howard Johnson hotel has a room and rate to please every guest. This Lafayette hotel is minutes from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and attractions like the Zoo of Acadiana, Beaver Park, Evangeline Downs Racetrack and Casino and the Heymann Performing Arts Center. The Lafayette Regional Airport is three miles away. Visitors will find plenty to do at the Acadian Mall. Be sure to tour the swamp and visit the Tabasco Plantation Factory, Sporting events, field games, conventions and festivals that are continually happening at the nearby Cajun Field and Cajun Dome. The Mardi Gras Festival and special events begin in February. The International Festival is in April and the Crawfish Festival is in May. The city of Lafayette truly believes in genuine Acadian food. The room was very clean and modern.
No complaints.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. I've stayed at other, moderately priced hotels in the area and this was by far the best value. The rooms were clean and updated. The staff was very friendly.

The front desk staff was professional and the room was very clean.
There are no handels in the bathtub to hold on to so you dont fall.

The hotel was easy to find. The front desk employees were professional. The room was beautiful and very clean as far as the eye could see. The mattress was very comfortable, firm. The pillow was a bit skimpy for my personal comfort. (I always travel with my own) The refrigerator and microwave oven in the room is a great convenience. There was no handles in the bathroom tub, nothing to hold on to getting in and out of the shower. I would stay there again but, I hope they will install handles in the shower. read more

Fairly new hotel, convienent to I-10.
Small breakfast area and pool.

Nice room with a new king sized bed. Was a remodel though, as they had not covered over the old area where a bathroom sink use to be, there was still the old pipes coming out from the wall in the corner of the room. It was out of the way though, so not a big deal. It was very clean though, and had a great bathroom, big shower and nice new ceramic tile. We would stay there again. read more
