The pool.

This hotel, for the most part, was fine for our purpose. It was clean and we appreciated having breakfast there. The only thing I wasn't pleased with was the pool, which was marked as a heated outdoor pool and I'm certain that it wasn't heated. My other complaint about the pool was that it was behind the building in a dark location that anyone could have pulled up to in the parking lot and walked on in. I didn't feel safe taking my kids there to swim after dark. read more

Friendly staff that was very helpful with our needs and questions.
The main level hallway smelled musty and looked dingy.

For an older building, I'd say a little upgrade, remodeling, and TLC would make a huge difference. Zap the musty smell on the 1st floor in the hallway and it would be perfect. The friendly and courteous staff made the difference!

The pool was very clean.
The hallways had an unpleasant odor.

Nice overall - some things were a turn off like the smell in the hallway, the broken bath tub plug, and stain on the bathroom floor; however the pool was very clean, and breakfast and public areas were very nice.

They have a shuttle to the airport that goes early.
The room was in poor shape and dirty.

The room was in disrepair - and was dirty. Glad we were there just overnight. I also requested a wakeup call in order to catch an early morning flight and no one called. Good thing I woke up on my own. Also, the shuttle to the airport was overbooked. Would not stay here again.

Continental breakfast with lots of choices.
Bathroom outlet plugs were not working, can't keep your blow-dryer or curling iron plugged in.

It was fine, suited our needs which was an overnight before an early A.M. flight out of KCI.

Good location, helpful and friendly staff.
Airport transportation is not provided between 12:00 AM and 4:00 AM.

Cheap, 5 minutes from Kansas City International Airport, friendly and accommodating staff, clean rooms, free waffles. A convenient place to stay on a stopover.

Did not look or feel like a 2 upscale hotel.

The room we were initially checked into had a musty old smell. We had to request another room which was better but the whole place smelled like mold.

The staff was pleasant and helpful.
The rooms were dated, and not maintained well.

This is an aging hotel in bad need of an update. While the rooms were "clean", they were not well maintained. Lights did not work properly or were burned out, and the air conditioner did not come close to keeping the room at a comfortable temp. Overall, I was disappointed in the accommodations as a whole.
