Not much, the shower..
Too much to say here, very rude staff.
Very rude staff, TV not working, dirty room, thin walls, very hot room with no control of temp.

Nothing.
Staff was not friendly or accommodating.
Not what
I expected at all from a Howard Johnson facility.

Location.
The hallways were old looking. Beds need to be changed.
The hotel can update the public spaces and the rooms need better beds. The beds were lop-sided. The great thing about the hotel is the location and the hotel restaurant.

My floor was reasonably clean, as was the room. Nice view of the mountains.
A little remote for a tourist, too many drunks outside Friday and Saturday night.
Public transportation was important on this trip. A short walk to the B-line to UBC, buses downtown frequent. Unfortunately, both trips were a little long. I should have stayed near Robson downtown. The staff was friendly, but security in the lobby had an eastern European feel at night. Probably where the guy was positioned and how he was dressed. Nice guy otherwise. I sleep in a lot of hotel beds for business, these ranked in the lower third in my opinion. Under the sheets they were dirty (dust, mildew?), back support was uneven, and the pillows were thin. Safe in the room was too obvious, made me feel like I really needed to take notice with my safety. The overall message was that I probably should have stayed in a different part of town, but as I had not stayed in Vancouver before, this seemed to be a good choice. read more

Best rate I could find in Vancouver for the weekend. Quiet, clean, free parking.
Far from downtown, outdated - looks grungy from the outside, hard to get to parking area.
Not a bad value for the rate, but I would not stay there again unless I had a great rate for the night. Too far from downtown or Kitsilano, looks grungy, and slow elevators.

Convenient to where we needed to go.
Restaurant smelled of mold and mildew and could not eat there.
The Howard Johnson on Kingsway, the old Baltimore Hotel, has undergone a recent cosmetic renovation. The staff are helpful, if not very friendly. The restaurant service is not to be used due to the smell of mold and mildew emanating from it. For a short stay it is sufficient.
